Puritanism is a religious reform movement that begin within the Church of England in the late 16th century. The puritans wanted to purify the church. They wanted to reformed the church because they didn't agree with the practices of the Church of England. The Puritans move to America to practice their own religious beliefs. The Puritans arrived in Massachusetts and established a colony called Massachusetts Bay Colony. Once they got off the ships, they made a new town. During the period they migrated, twenty thousand people moved from England to New England.
