In the town of Salem, a group of girls were dancing around the fire in the forest. They were caught by Reverend Parris, their local minister. Parris's daughter Betty, falls in a coma-like state. People heard about this and they thought it was witchcraft. Abigail blamed Tituba because she was conjuring dead spirits. She was sent to court and she said that the Devil made her sign a book and other peoples names were on it. Abigail starts pretending that she seeing spirits and starts accusing other people. A lot of people gets accused during this time. A lot of people died because they were getting accused. Most of them who were accused were hung.

.John Proctor John Proctor is a farmer who lives outside of town and the husband of Elizabeth. He had a an affair with Abigail. John is a powerful man and he is honest. He hates hypocrites.
How he changed throughout the play At the beginning of the play John ignores the witchcraft and at the end of the play he tries to stand up and go up against witchery.
Relationship with other characters John Proctor had a relationship with Abigail. They had an affair. Abigail was a servant of Elizabeth . John is the husband of Elizabeth.
